How to Fight Giants (2 Methods)
Hey–Saenchai here, I've always been fascinated with how to fight bigger opponents.
You know, someone who is weaker, smaller and less talented.
Someone who through sheer hard work, smart moves, and careful strategy became a great striker.
Someone who lost by going head to head with a stronger opponent...
and then has to reinvent themselves to look unstoppable...
Yes, even when all the odds are so stacked against them.
What would they do? How would they do it?
Could they pull it off against opponents 30 pounds heavier?
What about 50-100+ pounds heavier???
History tells us by training in legendary Muay Thai, YES it's possible.
Priceless lessons can be learned from this history. THAT is what I want to share with you today.
Frankly, this won't resonate with everyone. It's only going to "hit deep" with people who truly understand a champion's mindset...
You know, the strikers who aspire to have high fight IQ and is a martial artist deep in their bones...
...like you were born to overcome the odds and fight someone who is bigger, taller, and more talented than you.
If that's you, then you're going to love this. Anyways - let's dive into it.
These 2 methods all come down to FIGHT IQ strategy.
But before strategy, it comes down to MINDSET.
On one side, you have 99% of the world. People with limited mindset.
The kind of people who hope, aspire, and ENVY becoming a legendary striker.
But in reality, they RESENT those who appear more talented and more athletic than them... the one who started earlier and got better faster.
They think it's impossible, so they never try. They never take action, or they give up easily.
These people train the same way as everyone else. They think like everyone else.
Now, do I understand the mindset here?
Yes. 100% It's totally understandable. There's nothing wrong with being this kind of striker.
But the sad truth is that if you want to truly evolve and become a champion, this doesn't work.
I know, because this was me. I got knocked out when I was 15 going head to head with a bigger and stronger opponent.
After that, had to adapt and develop a championship mindset and a high fight IQ.
And then I was never knocked down again.
So the truth is, as harsh as it may sound, the 99% of people with a limited mindset just aren't setting themselves up for success.
And then we have the 2nd group.
The 1% of the striking community that takes action and believe in their own potential.
The Champions who believes anything is possible. Now, a key point here is that doubt still lingers and exists.
You're still worried about things like:
"How do I avoid being knocked out by the bigger, stronger opponent?"
"What if I'm embarrassed in front of a crowd? Am I in over my head?"
"Am I really cut out for fighting... is my striking dream possible?"
Everyone feels this way. Everyone feels the fear and doubt. Yes, even champions.
But the key difference is how you react to the fear. Do you let it stop you in your tracks and freeze, letting a bigger opponent walk you down and bully you?
Or do you take a deep breath, and realize that courage cannot exist without fear, and intelligently fight back to overcome the odds intelligently.
That is the difference. Muay Thai legends have been able to do this, and I am far from the only one.
And now, I know this may seem theoretical. Or "woo-woo." But it's not.
You'll see this championship mindset buried deep in the psyche of almost everyone who had a legendary striking career.
That doesn't mean you have to like Buakaw, Nokweed, Kaoklai, or me.
Many of my students of all levels are able to defeat bigger opponents too....
If I were to teach two strategies on how to fight bigger opponents:
- Stand your ground and shot selection
- Hit and run, bait and evade.
Doing these two right increases the chance of winning dramatically.
TWO lightweight Muay Thai legends have been able to do this to the best K-1 heavyweight kickboxers in history...
Yes, against kickboxing champions who out weighted them by 100 pounds.
That's why I'm so excited to share with you the "How to Fight Giants (2 Methods)" today.
Why is it that Muay Thai can keep doing the "impossible" so often?
And why is it, that so few actually learn "Muay Thai" directly from us?
Anyways, if you're still reading, that means something.
It means you truly resonated with some part of this message, and you truly want to learn real Muay Thai.
And if you do, I have a hunch that you have a champion's mindset.
You see, after being knocked out, I overcame the odds and defeated bigger opponents my entire career.
I believe you can too. All you need to do right now is say "maybe."
Click the button below and learn how my teammate and peers did it.
See if it becomes the best mindset and strategy shift in your striking journey.
See if this one small thing... changes everything.
🙏, Saenchai
